Pre order iPad 3 online today… ??

Here’s the deal: Apple will be releasing their pre-order and ordering information on the highly anticipated iPad 3 any minute now.

The problem is, with so much buzz behind this thing, they are likely to sell out in stores extremely fast.  On top of that, you’re going to have to battle insane lines with long wait times.

The obvious solution is to preorder online.  Now, my guess is that Apple will make the iPad 3 available for pre-order through Amazon and Apple’s own website.  Although, that’s just my educated guess based on what they’ve done in the past.

Now, for those of you who are on the fence, you probably need to know the scoop.  How does the iPad 2 vs iPad 3 comparison shake down?  And what’s new for the iPad 3?  And will it even be called the iPad 3?

Good questions — here is what we believe to be true…

Design

The word on the street is that the iPad 3 will be nearly identical to the look and feel of the iPad 2.  This shouldn’t come as a surprise.  We’ve all heard the motto: “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.”  Well, judging by the overwhelming success seen with the first and second generation iPads, team Apple had no reason to go tinkering with winning formula.

Display

It appears that the iPad 3 took a big step forward in this category.  Apparently, it’s coming loaded with a retina display similar to what’s used with the iPhone 4/4s models.  The resulting resolution could be as much as twice the resolution seen with the iPad 2.  Awesome, right?  Visit where to buy iPad 3 for even more information.

Performance

Probably the most notable upgrade will be a faster processor, the A6, which is rumored to be a quad core.  This alone will make everything run faster and smoother — from movies to your favorite apps, you will notice an increase in speed.  Another thing to bump up the power would be more RAM than the iPad 1 and iPad 2. While the exact details are still being debated, it stands in line with other Apple upgrades that always include a more revved up version of the processor, to keep on the cutting edge and enable users to play the newest games that are being released with higher system requirements.

Camera

An upgraded camera with flash will also be included — again, very similar to the iPhone 4/4S.  The camera itself will be better, but the biggest advantage will really be having a flash option.

Operating System

The roll out of iOS 5.1 is also speculated to be a part of the iPad 3 release and many sources agree this would include bringing Siri to the iPad, similar to the iPhone 4S, which would offer voice activated commands and prompts.  This could also allow for LTE support for US customers.  While many places are still not LTE compatible, it is better to have a device that can handle it when it does become available in your area.  Better to be one step ahead then to be stuck with outdated technology until you can justify an upgrade.  We know that LTE and 4G is the future… so why not start planning ahead?

Battery Life

It is possible the iPad 3 will have a longer battery life.  A ballpark figure says as much as 16 hours per charge.  The iPad 2 boasted a 10 hour battery life which is already impressive so anything more than that is just cherries on top.

Negatives

Possibly the biggest dilemma will be for current iPad 2 customers when deciding whether or not they should upgrade when the iPad 3 becomes available.  In my opinion it would be worth the switch if you are using it for gaming because the higher speed processor will guarantee you will always be able to play your favorite games and keep up with the new releases on the market.  The upgrade would also be recommended for users who watch a lot of videos and television shows and therefore demand the best possible resolution.  For the casual iPad user, however, it may not be worth the price to trade in the ole’ iPad 2 (assuming it still works smoothly for you).

Summary

Overall, there promises to be some major upgrades and advancements that will keep the iPad 3 on the top of everyone’s wish list.  There have been many other tablets in recent years, but the iPad is consistently on top for a reason.  Apple keeps a finger on the pulse of what is current and trending and they’ve got the resources to develop new technology to keep up with the demands in an industry where things change, seemingly overnight.

Plus, Apple always over-delivers in customer satisfaction and support.  You can get any and all questions answered at your local Apple store.  And let’s be honest, it’s just fun to shop at an Apple store.  The environment they’ve created is pretty awesome.

What if you’ve never had an iPad before?  There will always be debate about this, but almost anyone can pick up an iPad and figure out how to navigate and maneuver their way around, since everything is crisp and straightforward.
